Most messages that come in are about whether shiatsu can help with a specific issue — tension headaches, lower back stiffness, poor sleep, or general fatigue that hasn't responded to other approaches. Others are simply curious about how a session works, what to wear, or whether shiatsu is combined with any other techniques. All of these are welcome, and there's no such thing as a question too basic to ask.
To get a useful answer quickly, it helps to mention what's bringing you to shiatsu in the first place — a specific complaint, general curiosity, or a recommendation from someone else — along with any relevant health conditions, past injuries, or ongoing treatments. If you're asking about booking a session, a few options for days and times that suit you will save a round of back-and-forth.
After a message arrives, it's read and answered individually rather than through an automated reply, which is why responses sometimes take a day or two rather than a few hours. Mail is checked on weekdays, roughly between mid-morning and early evening, so messages sent over the weekend are usually picked up on Monday.
If a question needs more detail before a proper answer can be given, expect a short follow-up asking for it rather than a guess at what might be meant. For anything urgent, saying so directly in the subject line helps it get noticed sooner.
How it works
You get in touch and describe what's bothering you
We agree on a time and I explain what to expect
You arrive in comfortable clothing
We talk briefly before the session begins
The session takes place on a mat, fully clothed
We talk after, and I suggest what to notice over the coming days
Follow-up sessions are scheduled if useful
